IVF and Acupuncture - Increase your Success Rate
Success rates increase significantly when combining acupuncture with Assisted Reproductive Technology. If you are receiving an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF),there are a series of treatments that are recommended to begin approximately three months prior to the transfer.
Don't have three months? No problem. Studies have shown that even one or two acupuncture treatments significantly improve fertility rates.
In this study patients receiving Assisted Reproductive Therapy were divided into two groups. The first group received an acupuncture treatment 25 minutes before and after embryo transfer. The second group did not receive acupuncture before or after embryo transfer. In the group that received the acupuncture, 42.5 % became pregnant as opposed to 26.3% of the women who did not receive acupuncture.
By coming for regular acupuncture treatments three months prior to embryo transfer, pregnancy rates can increase up to 60% according to Dr. Lifang LiangO.M.D., Ph. D., L.Ac. in her book “Acupuncture & IVF.”

While each person begins in a different place, many women become pregnant within three to eight months of regular acupuncture treatments and eating nourishing food. Treatments are Individualized for You
The first appointment is a two-hour consultation and treatment session. During this visit we will speak at length about your health history, your fertility concerns, and any other concerns you have. You will have an opportunity to see how seemingly unrelated health concerns may all be part of an underlying imbalance that can be corrected with acupuncture.
You will receive a Chinese pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and a full acupuncture treatment. This appointment is done in two one-hour sessions that most people schedule back-to-back. Each one-hour session is $85.

Each session begins with time to reflect on the changes in the body. You may notice that your menstrual cycle is more regulated and easier. You may notice that you mood is improved and that you are sleeping more soundly. These are all signs that your fertility is returning.
